Alicia’s academic career began with a degree in English and History. She then completed a second degree from Concordia University, this time in Fine Art in 2023. Alicia’s broad approach to photography and installation has been exhibited in both Canada and the UK. She is currently based in London, England where she is pursuing a Masters at the Royal College of Art.
Alicia Hamerman’s prints, sculptures and installations refuse fixed conclusions. Her works offer conceptual explorations on themes of affect, visuality and textual play which come together to explore the material potential of image making. She creates, then destroys and uses the pieces to build her way out. She assembles, reassembles and then probes at the fragments.
